Job summary

Weber Specialties Company is seeking a Panel Bender Operator in Michigan. The role involves setting up and operating panel bending machines to shape and form sheet metal according to specifications. You will read job specs, prints, and operator instructions while monitoring SPC control charts to ensure quality.

You will also perform basic machine maintenance, ensure safety, complete shop floor paperwork, and collaborate with team members to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year of panel bender or comparable machinery experience.
• Ability to read job specifications, part prints, operator instructions.
• Ability to read SPC control charts and apply acceptance criteria.
• Ability to measure with micrometers, calipers and tape measures.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications, part prints and operator instructions to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with guide.
• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
• Observes machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Completes SPC charts using micrometers, calipers and tape measures.
• Shuts down operation if process varies outside SPC control limits.
