Job summary

Allegion in Greenfield, Indiana is seeking an Assembler to build components, sub-assemblies, and final products on multiple manufacturing lines. You will use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment, following blueprints and safety instructions to meet quality standards.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 6 months to 1 year of assembly experience, plus basic computer literacy and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Overtime and cross-training may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
  • Ability to produce parts to meet quality standards.
  • Flexible in role, able to adapt to new processes or production requirements.
  • Lean manufacturing principles familiarity.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and final products by following blueprints and work instructions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery with proper setup and use.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues.
  • Inspect products for defects using measurement tools.
  • Document production metrics and issues encountered.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE.
  • Perform basic equipment checks.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to improve processes.
  • Communicate effectively to report issues and updates.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and store tools properly.
  • Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions.
  • Be flexible with overtime and cross-training.
