Job description

GuidePoint Security

GuidePoint Security provides trusted cybersecurity expertise, solutions, and services to help organizations make better decisions and minimize risk. Using a holistic, three-tiered approach to evaluate security posture and ecosystems, GuidePoint enables top organizations, including Fortune 500 companies and U.S. government agencies, to identify threats, optimize resources, and implement solutions that mitigate risk.

US Government contract. Candidates MUST be US Citizens. Work is mostly remote, but candidates in the DC Metro area will be preferred.

Work individually or in small teams, potentially leading tasks, projects, or teams to analyze root causes and resolve issues. Assist senior technicians, specialists, and managers. Provide expertise in designing, developing, directing, and implementing enterprise network cyber defense capabilities. Familiarity with cyber defense tools such as firewalls, Host Based Security Systems, web content filters, email security, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DNS security, log analysis, network monitoring, packet capture, proxies, anti-virus, Linux/UNIX command line, and access control lists is required.

What You'll Do:
  • Participate in a team responsible for the integration, operation, and maintenance of enterprise cybersecurity technologies.
  • Plan and implement policy changes on Palo Alto next-generation firewalls.
  • Assist in designing a worldwide network security architecture.
  • Manage configuration changes on enterprise load balancers, including TLS inspection.
  • Work on special projects independently or within a group.
  • Investigate and document security incidents.
  • Implement corrective actions for emerging network security threats.
  • Brief senior leadership and government stakeholders on the security posture.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience with privileged access and cybersecurity tools, especially Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • US Citizen with a clear background; active Public Trust clearance preferred.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of STIGs, SCAP, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Understanding of Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Educational and experience requirements vary, including a high school diploma with 7+ years or higher degrees with fewer years of experience.
Nice to Have:
  • Palo Alto certifications (PNCSA, PNCSE).
  • Experience with Trellix Endpoint Security Suite, Splunk, ForeScout, cloud systems (AWS, Azure, GCP), big data analytics, AI, Zero-Trust Architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, CaC, ITSM, and automation of security configurations.
