Sentara Health in Hampton/Williamsburg, VA is seeking an MD or DO physician specialized in Hospice & Palliative Medicine to join a large, established palliative care program. You will provide inpatient consultations, lead difficult clinical discussions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient comfort and quality of life.

Position Highlights

Location: Hampton and Williamsburg, VA Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Call Schedule: Light call rotation (1 in 4 weeks) serving as backup support to nurse practitioners Work-Life Balance: No weekend rounds, allowing for true work-life separation

• Provide inpatient palliative care consultations with focus on advanced symptom management
• Lead complex medical decision‑making discussions with patients, families, and care teams
• Collaborate within a well‑established interdisciplinary team including experienced nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers
• Mentor and guide team members in delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care

Robust program including 34 APPs and 5 Physicians with the goal of increasing to 7 Physicians system wide

We provide market‑competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $212,534.40 - $244,296.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full‑time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
