Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Palliative Care team. The PA will work with an interdisciplinary group to deliver compassionate care to patients with serious illnesses and lead goals-of-care discussions.

Responsibilities include clinical management of palliative patients, symptom control, inpatient end-of-life care, and collaboration with physicians and social workers in a team-based model. M-F daytime shift, no call or weekends.

Qualifications

• Current/Eligible Physician Assistant Certification and Arizona License.
• Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS.
• Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substance.

Responsibilities

• Clinical management of palliative care patients.
• Leading serious illness conversations with patients and their families.
• Managing malignant pain and complex symptom control.
• Providing inpatient end-of-life care.
• Offering consultations on goals of care and advance care planning.
• Collaborating closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team-based care model.
