Job summary

Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Palliative Care team. The PA will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care to patients with serious illnesses.

The role emphasizes clinical management, facilitating goals of care discussions, and collaborative care within a hospital setting. Daytime schedule on weekdays with no call and no weekends.

Qualifications

• Current/Eligible Physician Assistant Certification and Arizona License.
• Current CPR, BLS, and ACLS.
• Current prescribing privileges including a DEA license for controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Clinical management of palliative care patients.
• Leading serious illness conversations with patients and their families.
• Managing malignant pain and complex symptom control.
• Providing inpatient end-of-life care.
• Offering consultations on goals of care and advance care planning.
• Collaborating closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team-based care model.
