Job summary

Intermountain Health LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Staff Palliative Care Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support within the palliative care team. You will conduct spiritual assessments, participate in ICU rounds, and assist with family meetings and advance directives.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, 2–4 ACPE units with NACC/APC BCCi approval, and current endorsement by a recognized faith group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and accredited.
• Completion of 2 ACPE units (meeting NACC/APC BCCi approval) within 2 years of hire.
• Completion of 4 ACPE units (meeting NACC/APC BCCi approval) within 2 years of hire.
• Endorsement/authorization letter from endorsing body within last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Participate in IDT rounds and ICU Early Intervention Model.
• Schedule and facilitate family meetings as appropriate.
• Assist with advance directives and ensure documentation in EMR.
• Respond to crisis situations and participate in ethics consultations as directed.
• Collaborate with Spiritual Care department and contribute to quality improvement.
