Job summary

CANPACK Group in Indiana seeks a production associate to set up and operate palletizer equipment, ensuring cans meet quality and process specs. You will monitor quality, load pallets, and report machine issues while supporting both production and quality control objectives.

Ideal candidates have an engineering/technical background and manufacturing exposure, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team.

Qualifications

  • Engineering or technical degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • Must have keen attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent oral communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate palletizing equipment daily to sort, transfer and stack finished products on pallets for shipment.
  • Observe and record any quality issues.
  • Reload equipment with empty pallets and ensure smooth production flow.
  • Report issues with machine condition to supervisor.
  • Assist with production control and quality specification adherence.
  • Maintain assigned equipment and support safety and audits.

Job description

Set up and operate a palletizer machine to maintain good quality of cans produced (within the specified quality and technological parameters). Ensure smooth operations of production machinery and maintain them in an appropriate technical condition.

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
  • Operate palletizing equipment daily to sort, transfer and stack finished products on pallets for shipment.
  • Observe and keep records of any quality issues.
  • Supplies loading equipment with empty pallets.
  • Report any issues with the technical condition of the machine to supervisor.
  • Assist with the control of production and quality specification.
  • Have responsibility for any assigned equipment.
  • Co-operate with supervisor and other workers as part of a team and production line.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of systems, including performing internal audits as required.
  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Engineering or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Excellent oral communication skills Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.
