PLA and its Family of Companies is seeking a Pallet Sorting Machine Operator for the Day Shift in Salt Lake City, UT. The role focuses on safe operation and maintenance of pallet sorting equipment to support production and meet quality standards.

The job requires attentiveness to detail, adherence to safety policies, and ability to perform basic maintenance, document production, and adapt to scheduling changes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator is preferred.
• Experience operating a SMETCO 300 series pallet sorter is a plus.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to follow operational guidelines for machinery.
• Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned equipment, such as the SMETCO 300 series pallet sorter, following company policies.
• Sort pallets by quality, manufacturer and type, and inspect conformance to standards.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on machinery, clear jams, and remove debris.
• Report equipment problems immediately to the appropriate authority.
• Ensure productive sorting of pallets through the machine.
• Hand-stack pallets and move materials within the facility.
• Complete production paperwork to track progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe workspace around the machine.
• Follow safety policies diligently and adapt to changing schedules.
