Job summary

Friends of Dinosaur Ridge seeks a Manager of Camps and Collections to supervise the state-certified collections repository and exhibit collections, lead paleontology-related camps for youth, and coordinate with directors on program development.

You will supervise volunteers, ensure compliance with state licenses, and collaborate with partners and staff to advance educational missions at Dinosaur Ridge in Colorado. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, collections management, and/or science education.
• Strong computer and technical skills; experience with spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
• Experience communicating science to all audience levels.
• 1+ year of collections management, museum curation, fossil handling or similar experience.
• 1+ year of science education experience.
• 6+ months staffing day camps or related science-themed experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of Collections care, including acquisition, documentation, care, and access.
• Oversee storage and exhibit spaces; maintain policies and SOPs for collections.
• Collaborate with state/local agencies on collections issues.
• Co-lead planning and growth of camp experiences with education director.
• Represent Dinosaur Ridge at professional conferences and cultivate stakeholder relationships.
