Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Temporary Assistant Project Paleontologist to support an ongoing mitigation project in the Rocky Mountain Plains region, based out of the Denver or Sheridan office.

The role entails field leadership, supervising monitoring, surveys, fossil recovery, data collection, and coordination with clients and construction crews across the western United States, with travel and long field days typical.

Qualifications

• Two years of Wyoming mitigation experience.
• Four years of professional paleontological mitigation experience overall.
• Preference for Wyoming Paleontological Resource Use Permit Field Agent status.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and conduct paleontological monitoring, surveys, fossil recovery, data collection, and quality assurance; manage project documentation.
• Provide field leadership; coordinate field crews and communicate with clients and construction personnel.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
