Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a Lab Assistant II (Student Employment) for an NSF-funded paleotemperature project. You will analyze samples in the Radiogenic Isotope Lab and, in collaboration with the Michigan Isopaleo Lab, perform clumped isotope analyses and uranium-series dating.

You will also assist with general lab duties and participate in data analyses and publications related to the project. Sixty percent of duties involve hands-on lab work on Main Campus in Albuquerque, NM.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters
• If Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples in the UNM Radiogenic Isotope Lab for the NSF-funded project on paleotemperature.
• Perform uranium-series ages and, in collaboration with the University of Michigan Isopaleo Lab, clumped isotope analyses.
• Assist with general lab duties in support of the project and participate in data analyses and publications.
