Job summary

The University of New Mexico invites applications for a Lab Assistant II in the Earth and Planetary Sciences department. The student will join the NSF-funded paleotemperature project, responsible for analyzing samples in the UNM Radiogenic Isotope Lab, obtaining uranium-series ages, and supporting clumped isotope analyses.

In addition to specialized work, the assistant will perform general lab duties and participate in data analyses and the generation of publications related to the project.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM.
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters.
• If Work Study, must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples in the UNM Radiogenic Isotope Lab to obtain uranium-series ages.
• Perform clumped isotope analyses in the University of Michigan Isopaleo Lab.
• Contribute to general lab duties and participate in data analyses and publications.

Position Summary

Student will have primary responsibilities for
the NSF-funded project on paleotemperature such as: analyze samples in the
University of New Mexico Radiogenic Isotope Lab, getting uranium-series ages,
and in the University of Michigan Isopaleo Lab, doing clumped isotope
analyses. In addition, student will help out with general lab duties in
support of the project. She will participate in data analyses and the
generation of publications related to the project.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
