Job summary

Nationwide IT Services seeks a Palantir / AI Data Engineer to develop and sustain data and AI capabilities across Palantir Foundry, Envision, Maven, Vantage, and related repositories for ANGRC data sets.

The role supports AI/ML-ready data products, governance, and robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines, with security clearances and DoD alignment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Palantir Foundry data engineering, modeling, or admin experience.
• Experience building semantic layers, data models, vector indexes, and AI-ready structures.
• Strong SQL and Python skills; able to integrate diverse enterprise data sources.
• Experience with AI/ML-enabled query, retrieval, and prompt/context engineering.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, security, and quality controls in regulated environments.
• Must meet DoD/DAF security, cybersecurity-awareness, CUI, OPSEC, and access-training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and troubleshoot data products in Palantir Foundry and related environments.
• Structure semantic layers, schemas, metadata, and vector-index configurations for AI/ML workloads.
• Integrate Palantir and AskSage with Azure, Databricks, Advana/WDP, Power BI; preserve data integrity.
• Prepare and optimize enterprise data for semantic search, vector retrieval, and AI analysis.
• Implement data quality, access controls, encryption, lineage, and CUI handling across AI data products.
• Collaborate with engineers and technical lead to ensure reliable ingestion and transformations.
• Validate AI data layers against government definitions and identify data/semantic issues.
• Support BI and analytics tooling and create technical docs and training materials.

Palantir / AI Data Engineer

Location Hybrid - Air National Guard Readiness Center (ANGRC), Joint Base Andrews, MD; up to 3 telework days per week. Remote work may be authorized by the Government on an exception basis. Occasional travel may be required. Security Clearance Requirement Active SECRET security clearance Position Summary Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking a Palantir / AI Data Engineer to develop, integrate, and sustain data and AI capabilities across Palantir Foundry, Envision, Maven, Vantage, AskSage, and connected enterprise repositories for a potential opportunity. The engineer will maintain semantic data layers, schemas, vector indexes, and AI-ready data products that enable natural-language, AI/ML, and mission analytics use cases across integrated ANG data sets.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot data products and workflows in Palantir Foundry and related Envision, Maven, and Vantage environments.
• Structure and maintain semantic data layers, ontologies/data models, schemas, metadata, and vector-index configurations supporting AI/ML query processing.
• Integrate Palantir and AskSage with Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, Advana/WDP, Power BI, and other CDAO repositories while preserving schema and data integrity.
• Prepare and optimize enterprise data for retrieval, semantic search, vector-based retrieval, prompt/context engineering, and AI-assisted analysis.
• Implement data quality, access control, least-privilege, encryption, lineage, and CUI-handling controls across AI-enabled data products.
• Partner with data engineers and the Technical Lead to develop reliable ingestion and transformation pathways feeding Palantir/AI data products.
• Validate AI data layers against Government-approved business definitions and functional requirements; investigate inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent AI responses attributable to data or semantic-layer issues.
• Support development and sustainment of BI products, analytics solutions, and technical training involving Palantir and AI tools.
• Create technical documentation, configuration guidance, troubleshooting procedures, and training materials for supported Palantir and AI capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry data engineering, modeling, application/analytics development, or platform administration.
• Experience developing semantic layers, ontology/data models, vector indexes, embeddings/retrieval pipelines, or comparable AI-ready data structures.
• Strong SQL and Python skills and experience integrating heterogeneous enterprise data sources.
• Experience with AI/ML-enabled query, retrieval, prompt/context engineering, or enterprise generative-AI solutions such as AskSage or comparable platforms.
• Understanding of data governance, lineage, access controls, security, and quality controls for enterprise and regulated data environments.
• Must satisfy applicable DoD/DAF security, cybersecurity-awareness, CUI, OPSEC, and access-training requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Palantir Envision, Maven, or Vantage.
• Experience supporting DoD IL4/IL5 cloud environments, Advana/WDP, or Air Force/ANG mission data.

Salary range: $138,000 to $189,000 annually
