Job summary

Landscape Structures is seeking a Paintline Associate Manufacturing Engineer for the 2nd shift in Delano, MN. The role focuses on planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing improvements and process controls to enhance efficiency and quality.

You will develop metrics, support production, participate in Kaizen events, and ensure ISO procedures are followed. The position offers a fully on-site work environment with a strong emphasis on lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• B.S deg in engineering or related field with 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools.
• 3+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production: develop metrics, review resources, troubleshoot quality issues, initiate process improvements, train employees, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and review prototypes/pilot runs, input from production on requirements, and review capital equipment.
• Develop and maintain production documentation: routings, ECOs, controlled documents.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures are followed.
• Lead lean improvement projects and Kaizen events.
• Plan and design manufacturing processes; analyze assembly, fabrication, machining.
• Implement preventive and corrective actions to reduce scrap and downtime.
• Create and maintain work instructions and process control plans.
• Support operations in meeting quality, safety, cost, productivity and delivery goals.

The role of the manufacturing engineer is to plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes and improvements for the company. Designing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental and safety controls into a process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing technical support to production department: Developing metrics, reviewing resources, troubleshooting/problem solving production quality issues, initiating process improvements, training production employees, and providing corrective actions on customer issues.
• Development of new products: Involvement with product development on project, provide direction on prototypes/pilot runs/1st articles, interaction with production employees on requirements, and review capital equipment.
• Develop and maintain production documentation: Initiate and Update routings & ECO’s, controlled documents, etc.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and 14001 procedures are followed, and requirements are met.
• Team member on various lean improvement projects: Actively involved in Kaizen/Lean events, internal audits, action items, various engineering projects.
• Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a production facility; Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.· Works on some complex tasks/projects individually
• Work may be directed by others (supervisor, production supervisors, product development, etc.)
• Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions for reducing scrap, rework and down time
• Contribute to creation and continuous improvement of manufacturing work instructions, process control plans and other documentation required for production release.
• Support operations performance in meeting quality, safety, morale, cost, productivity and delivery objectives.
• Understand and support ISO and quality

• Important to simplify process tasks to ensure repeatability for a robust process
• Establish trust by others by being authentic, leading by example, and basing decisions on “right thing to do”
• Lead on defining process requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S degree in engineering or related field 4-year degree from an accredited university and 4+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principals and tools
• 3+ years related experience

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

• The target hourly range is $32.00 - $39.00, depending upon qualifications and experience.
• The posted pay range reflects the expected compensation for a fully qualified candidate. Starting pay may be above or below this range based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and training needs.
• Eligibility for profit-sharing and monthly bonus opportunity.
