Job summary

Finishing Touch Team LLC in South Carolina is seeking a detail-oriented Painting & Construction Estimator to prepare accurate bids for residential and commercial painting projects. This role is key to growth and focuses on commercial contract work; prior estimating experience is preferred, but we will train strong candidates in our processes and the painting trade.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in painting, construction, or related trades preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards a plus.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• The ability to create and maintain relationships with clients.
• Must be motivated and sales driven.
• Valid driver's license for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specs, and scope documents to produce material and labor takeoffs.
• Conduct site visits/walkthroughs to assess surface conditions, access, and project scope.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Track material pricing and labor rates to keep estimates current.
• Build and submit competitive bid proposals, including for GC/commercial bid packages.
• Coordinate with project managers and crews to ensure estimates align with field execution.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project history in CRM software.
• Follow up on submitted bids and assist with contract negotiation as needed.
