Job Summary
We are seeking Carpenters to support the Veteran community in the Montgomery, AL area. These positions are open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals.
Position Highlights

- Pay: $22.09+ per hour
- Contract Type: 1-year contract
- Schedule: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded

- 2400 Hospital Road, Tuskegee, AL 36083
- Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- 3+ years of carpentry experience and knowledge in the construction field.
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Work at heights and climb ladders.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Work in high temperatures.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes.
- Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit testing.
- Standing and bending for long periods of time.
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
- If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.

Typical Day
You will:
- 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
- Measure, cut, construct, or repair wood or wood substitute items such as scaffolding, staging parts, panels, bin pallets, concrete forms, dry walls, and roof decking.
- Measure, cut, construct, install, repair, and modify building components such as rafters, walls, staircases, windows, frames, trim work, and cabinets.
- Independently plan and complete projects that involve constructing, altering, repairing, and/or modifying framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, interior/exterior trim, staircases, trusses, and beams.
- Plan, measure, and lay out carpentry materials using broad knowledge of wood materials and substitutes with general and precision woodworking techniques.
- Have knowledge of metal framing for walls and drop ceilings.
- Have concrete and masonry skills.
- Projects involve constructing, altering, repairing, and/or modifying framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, interior/exterior trim, staircases, trusses, and beams.
