Job summary

Generac is seeking experienced painters for weekend shifts (Fri–Sun, 5AM–5PM) in Beaver Dam, WI. The role encompasses Painter I/II/III responsibilities from loading parts to painting operations and ongoing safety compliance.

Successful candidates will demonstrate basic to advanced powder coating experience and the ability to work across multiple product lines. Applicants should have a high school diploma and 0–2 years (Painter I) or 2+ years (Painter III) in powder coat painting, with PPE and

Responsibilities

• Loading, transferring, and unloading parts on the paint line.
• Hang/rack parts for coating and ensure proper paint application.
• Inspect parts before and after finishing for quality.
• Maintain safe work habits and PPE compliance.
• Support with stock handling and keeping a clean work area.
• Painter II: clean and prep materials for coating; operate paint booth; assist with equipment.
• Painter III: perform painting with proper coatings; cross-train; support other areas; train new employees.

Weekend Shift Hours: Fri - Sun 5AM - 5PM

Pay:

• Painter I - $21.00/hour + $3.00/hour = $24.00/hour
• Painter II - $22.25/hour + $3.00/hour = $25.25/hour
• Painter III - $23.00/hour + $3.00/hour = $26.00/hour

The Painter is expected to safely complete supervised powder coat paint established procedures, processes, or policies. Paint Hangers safely and efficiently load and unload raw parts from the paint line. The Paint Hangers are expected to move efficiently and safely with the end result being a ready to use part or assembly.

Paint I - Major Responsibilities

• Loading, transferring, and unloading of parts on and/or from paint line
• Process each part by hanging/racking to paint application
• Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process
• Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)
• Constantly work in a constantly high heat environment
• Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process
• Exchange and break down racks and prepare for burn-off
• Maintain proper counts
• Report all scrap
• Perform stock handling duties as required
• Maintain a clean work environment

Painter II - Major Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and other preliminary operations to prepare materials for coating
• Perform painting operation in paint booth
• Assist with maintaining of paint equipment

Painter III - Major Responsibilities

• Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)
• Perform painting process in painting system watching for appropriate paint coverage and quality coatings for parts.
• Flex across different products / areas to support business needs.
• Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.

Painter I - Minimum Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience
• Detail oriented and organized

Painter II - Minimum Job Requirements

• Painter I requirements
• Able to pass a pulmonary function test to ensure they are able to wear an air hood.

Painter III - Minimum Job Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a powder coat painting environment and able to pass a pulmonary function test. (PPE requirement)

Preferred Job Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
• Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)

Physical Demands

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
