To provide journey-level painting, finishing, and maintenance of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures; may also direct the work of other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in a safe, efficient manner.
- Have knowledge of paints, their applications, and proper disposal procedures.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all painting equipment including brushes, rollers, and airless sprayers.
- Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures using all types of painting materials and methods.
- Operate paint mixing stations, perform color matching, and maintain documentation.
- Store and label all materials safely.
- Erect scaffolding, rigging, and ladders as necessary following safety codes.
- Operate within the policies and procedures of Darien Lake.
- Keep all work areas clean, safe, and professional in appearance.
- Coordinate projects with painting contractors.
- Provide safe, user-friendly work areas.
- Possess a valid New York State Driver's License and complete Darien Lake Vehicle Training program successfully.
- Have at least 2 years of experience painting in residential, commercial, industrial, or facilities operations, both interior and exterior.
- Be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week plus overtime as required.
- Be at least 18 years old.
