Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Hospital Painter at Summit Oaks Hospital in New Jersey. The role involves painting patient rooms, offices, and public areas while maintaining a safe environment in compliance with OSHA, NJDOH, NJDOA, and Joint Commission guidelines.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience, with the ability to work per diem and lift up to 50 pounds. The position supports facility operations and quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly painting tasks of patient rooms, offices, and public areas as assigned by supervisor.
  • Refill painting supplies in patient areas and painting storage rooms.
  • Keep supplies and equipment safely stored and away from patient access when in use.
  • Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.

Position Summary

The Painter is responsible for Painting routines that include but are not limited to Painting of patient rooms, offices, and public areas. This is always done ensuring a safe and risk preventive environment within regulating guidelines of OSHA, NJDOH, NJDOA, and the Joint Commission.

Qualifications
Education:

High School Graduate/GED preferred

Experience: 1-3 years of related work experience

Required skills:
  • Knowledge of basic Painting duties.
  • Knowledge of emergency code procedures.
  • Knowledge of risk and safety precautions.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work Per Diem as needed.
  • Ability to properly respond to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required without assistance.
  • Ability to work under any weather conditions inside or outside without regard for temperature, anytime of the day or night.
  • Ability to use hands in the performance of Painting duties and the use of Painting equipment.
  • Ability to read, write and follow simple instructions.
Essential Job Duties:

Perform daily, weekly and monthly Painting tasks of patient rooms, offices, and public areas as assigned by supervisor:

  1. Paint areas as directed.
  2. Refill Painting supplies in patient areas and Painting storage rooms.

Keep Painting supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use and away from patient access when in use.

Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.

Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

Assist Director of Plant Operations as needed.
