Job summary

Senior Resource Group, LLC is seeking a Painter to service our senior living communities. You will communicate with supervisors to determine painting requirements, prepare units, and apply finishes with brushes, rollers, or sprayers.

Ideal candidates bring drywall/patch capability, a solid safety record, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a healthcare environment. Training, competitive pay, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Completion of a vocational training program in painting, carpentry, or a related trade is preferred.
  • Certification in painting, construction, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare or large institutional setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and different types of paints and finishes.
  • Familiarity with basic repair procedures for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proficient in using painting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with supervisor to determine painting requirements and help make the best decisions for projects.
  • Complete make-ready process of vacant apartments as directed by the Maintenance Director.
  • Cover surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Prepare surfaces by washing, filling holes, and sanding until smooth.
  • Apply primer and sealers to ensure paint adhesion.
  • Mix and match paint, stain, and finishes to job specs if needed.
  • Apply paint, stain and finishes using brushes, rollers or sprayers.
  • Maintain inventory of paints, brushes, rollers, and tarps.
  • Review and implement work orders and assignments.
  • Ensure safety standards and company policies are followed.
  • Follow all applicable local, state and federal guidelines.

Painter Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicating with supervisor to determine the painting requirements and helping make the best decisions for the projects.
  • Complete make-ready process of vacant apartments as directed by the Maintenance Director.
  • Covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth.
  • Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications if necessary.
  • Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers.
  • Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps.
  • Removing old finish using scrapers or chemical compounds.
  • Estimating time and material costs on painting projects.
  • Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.
  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary.
  • Responsible for alerting the Maintenance Director of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
  • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
