Job Summary

To operate a spray painter, applying industrial paint finishes to parts, sub-assemblies, shelters, and trailers to ensure product quality and integrity at minimal cost.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Receive instructions verbally or from detailed prints.
  2. Handle parts, sub-assemblies, and units at the work station.
  3. Prepare units for painting, including washing, masking, sanding, and cleaning.
  4. Check units for proper preparation before painting.
  5. Handle materials, move units, and place parts on racks for painting and drying.
  6. Select and mix paint and other materials like J7 body filler and hardener.
  7. Ensure paint shelf life is valid before use.
  8. Clean spray equipment and perform operational maintenance.
  9. Perform additional tasks such as buffing, priming, and applying finishes.
  10. Apply paint using spray guns, ensuring proper thickness and quality standards.
  11. Conduct tests to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  12. Use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  13. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year related experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work safely with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Shop floor environment with exposure to noise and chemicals.
  • Repetitive motions and physical activity including lifting.
  • Adherence to safety protocols with PPE.
