The hotel is situated in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. The 294-room Graduate Providence is a historic landmark designed by Warren and Wetmore, architects of New York’s Grand Central Station. Overview

The Maintenance Engineer Painter is responsible for maintaining the property’s condition, focusing on painting across the hotel.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure building, walls, and items are well-painted and presentable.
2. Take readings on equipment and test cooling towers.
3. Replace and program televisions, light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.
4. Perform furniture repairs and replace/repair pumps.
5. Handle plumbing repairs, understand blueprints and wiring diagrams.
6. Trace and repair water lines, troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
7. Maintain repair records and ensure compliance with codes.
8. Test, clean, and repair pools and spas.
9. Paint designated areas, repair sheetrock and wall coverings.
10. Repair and program electronic lock systems.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
2. At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.
3. Trade school or college coursework in related fields is helpful.
4. Ability to work flexible hours; physical ability to exert force as required.
5. Effective communication, friendly demeanor, and customer service orientation.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and attend meetings and trainings.
7. Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards.
8. Compliance with hotel standards, safety regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
9. Ability to anticipate and solve problems, cross-train, and show initiative.
