Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA seeks an Aircraft Painter to apply primers, finishes, and protective coatings to aircraft parts and subassemblies. You will obtain paint types and coats from work orders and drawings, mix paints to spec, and prepare surfaces by cleaning and masking before applying coatings.
You will set up and adjust spraying equipment, spray interior surfaces of assemblies, and ensure quality finishes.
You will be the Aircraft Painter for the team which is responsible for setting up various types of spray painting equipment and applying primer, finish, and protective paint and paint-like coatings to parts and subassemblies.
As the Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for obtaining paint types, colors, number of coats, and areas to be painted from work orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications.

The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced painter with a strong knowledge of spray painting techniques and equipment. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications, and the ability to work with decimals, fractions, and proportions.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Work schedule currently 4x10, may go to 3x12.

A Candidate is required to have the following minimum level of experience: 1. One year of production spray painting experience, either aircraft or auto body. (ability to operate spray painting equipment and use acceptable spray painting techniques).
OR
2. One year's experience in the application of decals and spraying stencils, or other equivalent experience.
Commercial or Military Aircraft painting.
