Qualifications

  • Some experience in painting or related manufacturing work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect product for quality issues that could affect paint appearance.
  • Prepare parts for painting via inspection, surface prep, and cleaning with wax and grease remover.
  • Mix coatings with reducer and catalyst using color mixing equipment.
  • Apply primers/topcoat with gravity-fed or pressure-fed spray equipment.
  • Apply all coats with spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards.
  • Read and record dry paint thickness using a Mil Reader.
  • Maintain spray equipment to meet operational standards.
  • Keep paint booth clean and maintain filter changes.
  • Ensure hazardous waste is handled and disposed of properly.
  • Know spill response procedures and evacuation plan.
  • Maintain a safe, 5S-compliant workspace.

Location: 551 Collins Bus, South Hutchinson, Kansas

Responsibilities
  • Inspect product for any quality issues that could affect the final appearance of the paint process.
  • Prepare parts for painting through inspection, surface prep., and surface cleaning with wax and grease remover.
  • Mix coatings with reducer and catalyst at correct mixtures, using color mixture equipment.
  • Consistently apply primers/topcoat with gravity fed or pressure fed spray equipment.
  • Apply all coats with spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards.
  • Read and record dry paint thickness using a Mil Reader.
  • Must have the ability to correct errors in applications.
  • Maintain spray equipment to meet operational standards.
  • Maintain paint booth cleanliness and filter changes.
  • Ensure that any hazardous waste is handled and disposed of properly.
  • Know spill response procedures and evacuation plan.
  • Must keep the work area safe and clean to 5S standards.
