Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for an on-site role in Freeport, TX. The candidate must have 4 years of journeyman level painting experience, NCCER certification, and a valid driver's license.

You will prepare surfaces, mix coatings, and apply finishes to equipment and structures in industrial settings. The position is full-time, on-site, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity in challenging environments across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods to remove dirt, oil, and grease, and/or repair surfaces.

• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders for work at height.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to achieve a smooth surface.
• Select and mix coating liquids to the specified color.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
• Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience – 4 years of Journeyman level experience.

Certification/License: NCCER and a Valid Driver’s License.
