Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. is seeking a Painter Blaster to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and to coat equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Duties include surface prep, color mixing, and occasional scaffolding setup.

Requires 3–5 years of journeyman experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available. Equal Opportunity Employer.

• Physical Demands: The employee must regularly sit, stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and have good vision.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order and follows verbal instructions.
• Prepares surfaces to remove dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smooths cracks and fills holes.
• Works at heights with no fear.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to achieve a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquids to the specified color.
• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders for work above ground level.
• Applies paint to surfaces using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Painter Blaster

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepares surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform task above ground level.
• Apply paint to surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.
