Description

Job Purpose:

Paint walls, equipment, buildings, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. May remove old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Apply paint to buildings and structures using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
• Protect surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper during painting
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or fillers
• Remove fixtures such as doorknobs and switch covers before painting
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, and wire brushing
• Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, and steel wool
• Set up scaffolding or ladders for above-ground work
• Assist with surveys and reports as needed
• Participate in continuing education to stay current and maintain licenses/certifications
• Attend mandatory in-services
• Ensure fair and respectful treatment of patients/residents, respecting their rights and privacy
• Comply with corporate compliance and safety regulations
• Report occupational hazards
• Follow safety procedures when working with equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some overnight travel may be required
• Ability to perform repetitive finger, hand, and wrist movements
• Steady hand and arm control
