Job summary

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental in Milwaukee is seeking a Painter and Paint Surface Prepper to work on construction equipment in a body shop environment. This full-time, non-exempt role includes a comprehensive benefits package and a $100 sign-on bonus after 100 days of continuous employment.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment for painting, priming, painting and sandblasting materials, assembling and inspecting products to ensure quality, and maintaining safety standards within the shop

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commonly used painting practices; willing to train and mentor.
• Able to use spray guns and work with respirator or fresh air system.
• Must stand/walk for long periods.
• Must stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to access areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.

Job description

Dawes Rigging and Crane Rental, located in Milwaukee, has an opportunity for a Painter and Paint Surface Prepper working on various construction related equipment in a body shop environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive benefits package. This position is eligible for a candidate sign-on bonus of $100 after 100 days of continuous employment.

Essential Functions

• Prepare equipment, product and assemblies for painting
• Prime, paint and sandblast materials
• Assemble and inspect product ensuring work meets company quality standards
• Maintain conformity to safety requirements and other applicable regulations
• Any other duties that are needed around the shop and yard

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Has knowledge of commonly used practices and procedures in painting operations; willing to train and mentor
• Able to use/lift fully loaded spray guns and work with/around spray paints requiring use of a respirator or fresh air system
• Must be able to stand/walk around for long periods of time
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on heavy construction equipment to gain access to different areas
• Should be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to work 40 hours a week and overtime as needed
