Job summary

Terex Utilities in Wisconsin is hiring a Painter to support the Terex paint shop. You will operate paint spraying equipment, prepare surfaces, and ensure finishes meet quality standards.

This role requires the ability to manage finishes from epoxy primer to final coat and to maintain a clean, safe booth environment. Applicants should be able to work first shift in Waukesha, be eligible to work in the USA, and be prepared for long hours to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Experience with paints and epoxy primer prep.
  • Able to operate forklift and maintain workspace.
  • Willingness to work long hours and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Handle paint gun and maintain equipment.
  • Prep bodies for epoxy primer coat and thin paints for proper viscosity.
  • Adjust sprayer for final finish, coverage and economy; keep booth clean and safe.
  • Repair fiberglass with gel coat and resin as needed.
  • Spray finish coat for fiberglass repairs and fix paint reactions.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Ability to handle a paint gun.
  • Ability to spot if gun is not working properly and do the maintenance if needed.
  • Ability to organize and perform the steps needed in sequence.
  • Ability to prep bodies for epoxy prime coat.
  • Thin paints to proper viscosity for ease of application and to attain proper coverage.
  • Adjust sprayer to obtain required finish, coverage and economy; keep spray equipment and booth in a clean, operating and safe condition.
  • Learn how to repair fiberglass, use gel coat, resin, etc.
  • Required to spray finish coat of paint for repair of fiberglass.
  • Must know how to spot and correct all types of related problems such as paint reaction to each other.
  • Be able to move to any area of the shop; to be creative and meet strict deadlines as well as endure long hours.
  • Comply with quality standards through error prevention and by meeting such requirements with zero defects.
  • Operate forklift.
Physical Requirements of the Job

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs or lift 40 – 100 lbs with assistance of others and lifting equipment provided.

Sign-on Bonus and EEO
