Job summary

Indianapolis Marion County Building Authority is seeking a painter to perform interior and exterior painting, refinishing, and related maintenance across its properties. Description

Position Summary:

Reports and takes direction from the Painting Supervisor and is responsible for the painting, finishing and refinishing work for all of the Building Authority properties.

Essential Duties:
  1. Perform preventive maintenance, repair and alteration work to include;
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Vinyl wall covering repair and installation
  • Vinyl base installation
  • Plaster and drywall patching
  • Interior and exterior caulking

2. Assist other shops with maintenance repair.

3. Comply with Building Authority policies, procedures and safety regulations.

4. To perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Paint Supervisor.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous experience and working knowledge with general painting finish painting and refinishing work.
  3. Previous experience and working knowledge with electrostatic and roll and brush equipment.
  4. Basic carpentry skills, including ability to read a measuring tape and operate basic power tools
  5. Ability to work flexible schedule
  6. Valid Indiana Driver's License
  7. Ability to work well with other fellow employees, outside vendors, contractors, and customers.
  8. Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently.
  9. Ability to lift up to at least 50 (fifty) pounds.
