Cornerstone Building Brands in Monticello, IA is hiring for a 1st shift Painter responsible for painting metal surfaces, including setup, operation, inspection and material handling. Work is done in a safe, productive, and cooperative manner according to company policies.

The role requires ability to read and write, basic math, and physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior painting/manufacturing experience is preferred, with strong attendance and teamwork valued.

Responsabilités

• Quality control: Inspect paint finishes for quality standards.
• Equipment maintenance: Clean and maintain spray equipment.
• Safety: Follow procedures and wear protective gear.
• Material management: Mix and manage paints, solvents and supplies.
• Production processes: Follow manufacturing specs and processes.
• Problem solving: Address issues in the painting process.
• Inventory control: Track daily usage of paints and solvents.
• Paint application: Apply finishes with spray guns, brushes or rollers.
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Painters are responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities. Painters are expected to work in a safe, productive and cooperative manner in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands policies and procedures.

• Quality Control: Inspecting paint finishes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment.
• Safety: Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear.
• Material Management: Mixing, matching, and managing inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials.
• Production Processes: Understanding and following manufacturing specifications and processes.
• Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing issues related to the painting process.
• Inventory Control: Tracking daily usage of paints, thinners, and other solvents.
• Paint Application: Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other tools.
• Additional Duties: Complete all tasks as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
• Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
• Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with people
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
• Required personal protective equipment, overhead crane, carts, dollies and some hand tools
• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
