Job summary

Wastequip WRX in Rosemount, MN is seeking an Industrial Painter for a full-time role. The position involves spraying protective/decorative finishes on machines and manufactured products using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate has experience painting metal surfaces with paints, enamels, lacquers or similar coatings. Competitive pay and benefits are offered with health insurance and a 401K plan.

Qualifications

• Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System.
• Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products.
• Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat or lacquer.

Responsibilities

• Cleans grease and dirt from product.
• Starts grinder and moves it over surface to remove scratches, burrs.
• Polishes ground areas for a smooth, unmarred finish.
• Applies masking tape to protect areas not to be coated.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty for a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
• Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
• Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
• Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Heats and sprays wax onto products after testing.
• Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.

**Job Description:**Wastequip has an opening for an Industrial Painter to support the Rosemount, MN location. The ideal Candidate should be familiar with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment, where they will spray surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective/decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.**Pay Rate: $24.00****RESPONSIBILITIES*** Cleans grease and dirt from product* Starts grinder and moves it over surface of workpiece to remove scratches, laminated metal, excess weld material, and burs* Polishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface* Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated* Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface* Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color* Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose* Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray* Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat* Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush* Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent* Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested* Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool**QUALIFICATIONS*** Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System* Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and/or manufactured products* Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat or lacquer* Preferred experience in a fast paced production environment
