  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 100 pounds and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans surfaces to be painted using sanders, scrapers, brushes, etc.
  • Remove paint from surfaces as needed.
  • Mix, thin, and match paints.
  • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
  • Perform wall coverings, sheetrock finishing, spackling and general wall repairs.

Job description

Painter - Full Time

Friendship Village is hiring a Full Time Painter to work with our Maintenance team. Must have previous experience. The ideal candidates are painting professionals with the highest standards and experience in either commercial or residential repainting. They must be physically able to perform the duties of the job, which includes performing repetitive movements, standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing stairs and ladders, etc.

Job Duties
  • Cleans surfaces to be painted using sanders, scrapers, brushes, etc.
  • Remove paint
  • Mix, thin, and match paints.
  • Use application methods such as brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
  • Perform duties such as wall covering, sheetrock finishing, spackling and general wall repairs.
Working Hours
  • First shift
Qualifications
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have painting experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Residents, Staff and Guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.

Applicants are required to pass pre‑employment screenings that could include Criminal background checks, Abuse registry check, Drug test, Physical, and TB test.
