Job summary

Tatitlek Corporation in Washington, DC is seeking a Painter to perform painting, prep tasks, and related duties. Responsibilities include patching holes, drywall work, sanding, and scaffolding setup.

The role requires at least 2 years of painting experience in Commercial Facilities/O&M and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; a valid driver's license is also needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to read labels and safety warnings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, patches and tapes drywall and masonry surfaces.
  • Removes old paint coating as necessary.
  • Mixes colors to obtain desired color consistency.
  • Moves materials and tools around the jobsite as assigned.
  • Cleans up worksite debris upon project completion.

SUMMARY

The Painter will perform painting, prep tasks, including patching holes, hanging/patching drywall, sanding down rough surfaces, and setting up scaffolding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Applies various paint finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.
  • Prepares, cleans, patches and tapes drywall and masonry surfaces.
  • Removes old paint coating, as necessary.
  • Mixes colors or oils to obtain desired color consistency.
  • Moves necessary materials and tools around jobsite as assigned.
  • Cleans up worksite debris upon project completion.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & LICENSURE
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience painting in the Commercial Facilities/Operation and Maintenance Arena.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings and guidelines.
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to maneuver around the building site; see, hear and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Performance of essential and ancillary functions requires physical conditioning adequate for sitting, walking or standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, stretching, bending for prolonged periods of time; at time lift and carry up to as much as 50 pounds, near visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech with background noise. In performing the required work, it is required to have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, do a lot of walking, use every kind of hand tool, work in hazardous positions, carry heavy tools.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
