Job summary

Vinik Sports Group is seeking a reliable Painter to perform painting and surface preparation across our facilities. You will patch, sand, paint, and maintain diverse surfaces while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role involves operating painting tools, handling materials safely, assisting other trades, and keeping work areas clean and professional. The ideal candidate has at least two years’ painting experience, understands drywall finishing, and can work independently or in a team

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in the painting field.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable of painting related equipment.
• Good knowledge of drywall hanging, patching, and finishing.
• Ability to work independently and in team environments.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and dispose of paints, thinners, solvents, and materials per safety guidelines.

• Use and maintain painting tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Represent Vinik Sports Group in a professional and courteous manner.
• Manage game/event night duties as required (70+ events per year).

Job Summary

The Painter is responsible for performing painting and surface preparation work throughout Vinik Sports Group facilities. This role includes patching, sanding, painting, and maintaining a variety of surfaces while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The Painter will operate painting tools and equipment, handle materials in accordance with safety guidelines, assist other trades as needed, and help maintain a clean and professional environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service while representing Vinik Sports Group in a professional manner

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform basic patching, sanding, and surface preparation to ensure areas are ready for painting.


• Apply paint, primer, and other coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.


• Safely handle and dispose of paints, thinners, solvents, and other materials according to safety guidelines.


• Assist other trades and maintenance team members with projects and repairs as needed.


• Follow daily work assignments and directions from supervisors and senior painters.


• Use and maintain painting tools and equipment safely and properly.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.


• Demonstrate a working knowledge of painting techniques, products, and equipment.


• Represent Vinik Sports Group in a professional and courteous manner at all times.


• Game/Event Night Responsibilities: Yes Approximate number of events worked per year: 70+

Qualifications

Working Conditions

Overview

Vinik Sports Group (VSG) is an entity established by Jeff Vinik to manage the three-time Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning (2004, 2020, 2021) of the National Hockey League and hold the leasehold rights to Benchmark International Arena, the 19,092-seat downtown Tampa home in which the team plays its games. The venue opened in 1996 and became Benchmark International Arena in August 2025 when the global mergers and acquisitions firm, Benchmark International, partnered with Vinik and the Lightning. Since 2010, Vinik has led a complete brand and business transformation of the Lightning and the arena, featuring a mostly private renovation of the publicly owned facility.
