Job summary

South San Francisco Unified School District is seeking a Painter to perform painting and surface-prep duties for district facilities. Under the direction of the Director-Facilities, you will prepare surfaces and apply paints to buildings, equipment, and furniture.

Required are graduation from high school or GED, plus completion of an approved painting apprenticeship and one year journeyman experience. Valid California Class C license and potential EPA Lead Removal certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school or equivalent GED supplemented by completion of an approved apprenticeship program in painting and one year journey-level experience in the painting trade.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and paint/coat district buildings and facilities.
• Mix and apply paints or other surface coatings to buildings, equipment and furniture.

Painter

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director-Facilities, perform a variety of responsible duties in the preparation of surfaces and painting of District buildings and facilities; mix and apply paints or other surface coatings to buildings, equipment and furniture.

Education and Experience:

Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent GED supplemented by completion of an approved apprenticeship program in painting and one year journey-level experience in the painting trade.

Licenses and Other Requirements:

• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Some incumbents may be required to obtain a valid EPA Lead Removal Certification within a designated probationary period.
