Job description

Job Title: Painter at Honeywell

As a Painter at Honeywell, you will be responsible for executing painting activities to support the production and maintenance of aerospace components. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and aesthetics of the finished products meet industry standards and customer expectations. You will report directly to our Operations Manager and work on-site at our South Bend, IN location.

This role impacts the final appearance and quality of aerospace components, contributing to the overall success of our aerospace division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Paint wheels, carriers, and torque tubes.
  2. Remove wheels from the basket, using a hoist if needed, and place on a paint stand.
  3. Prime wheels using a spray gun.
  4. Apply top-coat of paint on each part using a spray gun.
  5. Move wheels from the paint stand to a rack, using a hoist if needed.
  6. Manually move full racks into the oven for baking cycles.
  7. After baking and cooling, apply masking tape on wheels to cover holes.
  8. Return wheels to the paint stand, applying a top-coat of paint.
  9. Move wheels from the paint stand to the rack again, using a hoist if needed.
  10. Repeat baking cycle and cooling process.
  11. Send wheels to final assembly after cooling and moving to baskets.
  12. Complete work within specified timeframes based on production schedules.
  13. Update paperwork and computer records upon task completion.
  14. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  15. Demonstrate troubleshooting skills to improve processes and team effectiveness.
