About the Opportunity:

Job Title: Painter

Pay Rate Range: $20/Hour

Location: Ramsey, MN

Schedule: 1st Shift, M-Th, 5:30am - 4pm or 7:45am - 6:15pm, O/T sometimes required.

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED
2. Previous electrostatic powder coating paint experience preferred.
3. Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, write, and understand).
4. Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed and work under schedule and time restrictions with limited supervision.
5. Lift up to 2lbs constantly, 35lbs occasionally, and 50lbs rarely.
6. Push/pull up to 25lbs occasionally.
7. Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead, climb stairs, and grasp tools as necessary.
8. Successfully complete a pulmonary function test and wear a respirator as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Paint products to meet company standards.
2. Inspect parts for quality before and after painting (weld spatter, paint thickness, etc.).
3. Perform daily paint line start-up and shutdown/clean-up tasks as required.
4. Clean booths and paint controls at end of run/shift; clean pumps, hoses, and paint gun venturis.
5. Routinely communicate with Unload Lead to ensure consistent paint quality. Make appropriate adjustments as needed.
6. Operate controls and functions of paint booths and paint guns.
7. Follow ISO procedures when taking paint from stock. Break down empty paint boxes.
8. Report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
9. Perform daily preventive maintenance tasks, as assigned, on the paint booth equipment (paint booth, paint guns, controller units, etc.) and paint room.
10. Operate hoist.
11. Stage/prepare prep materials for approaching weldments.
12. Blow water out of weldments using an air gun; ensure all parts coming out of dry-off oven are water-free.
13. Properly insert plugs, apply masking, and handle covers per work instructions.
14. Remove weld spatter and jagged edges using hand tools.
15. Thoroughly wipe off parts to ensure good powder adhesion.
16. Sort and restock plug bins.
17. Complete assembly of various models of machines following established procedures.
18. Move machines as required.
19. Verify completed machines meet quality standards and initial paperwork.
20. Use a manual and electric pallet jack.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.
