Job description

Wastequip has an opening for an Industrial Painter to support the Erial, NJ location. This is a full-time position offering excellent benefits, including health insurance, a 401K plan, paid vacation and sick time, and more. The ideal candidate should be familiar with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment, spray surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or work areas with protective or decorative coatings such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.

Responsibilities

1. Clean grease and dirt from products.
2. Apply masking tape over parts and areas not to be coated.
3. Grind and sand containers as needed.
4. Fill cavities and dents with putty to achieve a smooth surface.
5. Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired colors.
6. Pour coating liquid into spray containers and connect to air hoses.
7. Adjust sprayer valves and nozzles to regulate spray width and pressure.
8. Operate spray guns to apply primer or finish coats.
9. Paint areas inaccessible to spray with brushes.
10. Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvents.
11. Heat and spray wax onto products after testing.
12. Remove rust from metal surfaces using acids, wire brushes, or steel wool.

Qualifications

1. Experience with an airless paint finishing system.
2. Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery, or manufactured products.
3. Knowledge of paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.
4. Preferred experience in a fast-paced production environment.
