Job Title: Painter

FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Summary

Applies powder paint to products to ensure the color and mill thickness meet specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check line for powder tag regarding paint specification.
  • Load paint into hopper to ensure color specifications are met.
  • Maintain process control to ensure part preparation and product finish meet quality standards.
  • Apply powder to guarantee proper mill coverage.
  • Clean equipment and booth for the next application.
  • Prepare surfaces of objects to be painted.
  • Report maintenance issues affecting quality or safety to supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Quantity: Productivity, timely completion, efficiency, speed.
  • Safety and Security: Adherence to safety procedures, hazard reporting, proper equipment use.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED plus three to five years of liquid/powder painting experience.

Skills

  • Ability to read and write simple instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Reasoning ability to follow detailed instructions and solve standard problems.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, handle, reach, and talk. Occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Must lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity including color vision is required.

Work Environment

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise. Occasional exposure to high places.
