Job summary

New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Painter. The role requires extensive painting experience and the ability to prepare surfaces, mix colors, and apply finishes using brushes, rollers or spray equipment.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time painting experience within the last fifteen years.
• At least three years of full-time painting experience within the last fifteen years with sufficient apprentice painter experience to total five years.
• Six months of experience credited for each year of apprentice painter experience.
• Permanent civil service status in the title of Painter is required.

Note: Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Painter to be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as a painter acquired within the last fifteen years; or

At least three years of full-time satisfactory experience as a painter acquired within the last fifteen years and sufficient full-time satisfactory apprentice painter experience to make up a total of five years of acceptable experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of apprentice painter experience.
