Job description

We’re People People. Are you? We’re Sonesta International Hotels—the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. (and growing fast). With a dynamic mix of full-service and focused hotels across major cities, our diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties means we’re everywhere our guests need us to be. But here’s the thing—we’re not just in the business of hotels, we’re in the business of people. We bring service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and create experiences that genuinely connect—delivering quality, value, and memorable stays across 1,000+ properties in eight countries (and counting).

What this role is all about

Great hospitality experiences start with spaces that feel fresh, polished, and cared for. As a Painter, you’ll help maintain the appearance of our guest rooms, public spaces, exterior areas, and back-of-house facilities through high-quality painting, finishing, and surface repairs. If you’re skilled, detail-oriented, and take pride in creating spaces that look their best — we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing
  • Prepare and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, furniture, fixtures, and other interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Patch holes, repair drywall, sand surfaces, remove damaged finishes, and prepare areas for painting.
  • Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to achieve consistent color and quality.
  • Apply paint, primer, stain, sealant, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Protect guest areas, furniture, flooring, and fixtures before beginning work.
  • Complete guest room, public space, and back-of-house touch-ups with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
  • Inspect completed work and maintain high standards of quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, paint inventory, and organized storage areas.
  • Follow all hotel safety procedures and use ladders, equipment, chemicals, and protective gear correctly.
  • Partner with Engineering, Housekeeping, and Operations teams to prioritize projects and keep the hotel guest-ready.
  • Assist with general maintenance projects as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
What great looks like
  • Previous commercial, residential, hotel, construction, or facilities painting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation, drywall repair, color matching, and paint application techniques.
  • Experience using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, ladders, and common painting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete projects efficiently.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • A passion for quality workmanship, teamwork, and creating safe and welcoming guest environments.
