Amentum is seeking a skilled painter to prepare and finish walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures at our McLean, VA facility. The role involves surface prep, caulking, plaster repair, and applying various paints to different surfaces.

The position is safety sensitive and requires U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. Readiness for shift work, overtime, weekends, and adherence to safety and quality policies is essential.

JOB FUNCTION

Prepare, finish and paint walls, woodwork, fixtures and equipment as assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, finish and paint walls and ceiling, woodwork, and fixtures to include prep work and caulking.
• Repair plaster and sheetrock walls to include tape, block, skim and sand.
• Determine the type of paint required for application to different surfaces.
• Paint mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Mix paint ingredients to obtain proper color and consistency.
• Performs other job-related tasks.
• Perform minor plasterwork to include scratch coat and finish coat.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
• A willingness to work shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime,
• weekends, and holidays as required.

EXPERIENCE

Four years' experience relating to painting, spray painting, plastering, and spackling.

EDUCATION

High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to write correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients,
• and other employees of the organization.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
• CPR First Aid Training

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Work tasks requiring the incumbent to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.
