Job summary

NOV is seeking an industrial painter to perform surface preparation, masking and sanding, and spray paint applications to achieve high-quality finishes. You will maintain paint shop equipment, ensure coatings meet specifications, and safely manage waste and PPE compliance.

Role requires 1–2 years in industrial painting, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 25 pounds; overtime may be required and respirator use is expected.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years of industrial painting experience; some blasting may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a fit test with respirator.
  • Able to work in all climates and lift 25 pounds; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform surface preparation including masking and sanding of products prior to painting or sandblasting.
  • Perform spray painting with undercoating, preservatives and lubricants as needed.
  • Clean and maintain paint shop equipment (air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, guns, respirators).
  • Ensure coatings meet NOV or customer requirements and store waste properly.
  • Under supervision, spray paint small components prior to assembly and final coating.
  • Comply with NOV policies and perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Complete pre-use inspections and participate in facility inspections.

This role involves surface preparation, spray painting, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-quality finishes that meet company and customer standards.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform surface preparation activities, which include masking and sanding of product prior to painting or sandblasting.
  • Perform spray painting functions related preparatory undercoating, preservatives and lubricants.
  • Clean and maintain paint shop equipment such as air lines, fluid lines, paint pots, paint guns and respirators.
  • Ensure coatings are clad according to NOV or customer requirements.
  • Clean and store empty paint containers for proper disposal.
  • Maintain and change paint booth media filters and surface protectant coatings as needed.
  • Properly contain hazardous waste generated from normal paint shop operations.
  • Under general supervision, spray paint small, component parts prior to assembly and final coating.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities
  • Complete pre-use inspections as required
  • Participate in facility inspections as directed
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years experience in industrial painting, some blasting may be required
