Job summary

AutoNation is hiring a Paint Technician to prepare surfaces, mask areas, tint and apply color, and inspect craftsmanship in our Collision Center. You’ll follow factory procedures, operate spray equipment safely, and ensure compliance with OSHA and hazmat rules.

ICAR or OEM certification is preferred, with at least two years of automotive experience and a valid in-state driver's license. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for advancement within AutoNation’s nationwide

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and analyzing damaged areas and preparing them for painting, including removing rust and grease, and masking parts that are not to be painted or coated
  • Preparing the color tint to match or blend the paint color
  • Painting vehicles with a high level of efficiency and quality, using a sprayer or brush as appropriate
  • Adheres to factory and dealership procedures when performing warranty work
  • Operating all equipment in the Collision Center safely and productively following safety standards
  • Inspecting quality of craftsmanship and noting runs, sags, or unpainted areas
  • Mixing all paint and chemicals according to manufacturer directions
  • Understanding and following relevant regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA)
