Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled painter to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces on commercial and industrial buildings. You may estimate and schedule jobs under $5000, while executing precise surface prep and painting tasks.

The role requires reading work orders, selecting paints, and applying finishes with brushes, rollers, or spray gear. Prior painting experience and a valid driver’s license are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or higher preferred.
• 2–6 years’ related painting experience or training.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10 certificate preferred or obtained before start date.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders or follow supervisor instructions for painting.
• Prepare surfaces: remove old paint, fill holes, and wash surfaces.
• Protect surfaces with drop cloths and masking materials; select and mix paints to match colors.
• Paint surfaces with brushes, rollers, or spray equipment; create decorative finishes as needed.
• Set up ladders or lifts to access high areas and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and keep the work area organized.

Job Summary

Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of commercial, manufacturing and industrial buildings, manufacturing and industrial equipment, and other structures. Also may estimate, lay out, and schedule jobs under $5000.00.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding painting

Smooths surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for painting. Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler. Washes surfaces prior to painting with mildew remover.

Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting. Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting

Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors

Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers. Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects. Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects

Sets up ladders or utilizes man lifts to perform tasks above ground level

Select, apply PPE and mitigation for personal, group and area environmental limitations, policy, and protection.

Will be responsible for interior painting, exterior painting, and machine painting per instructions

Maintain, organize, control, inventory supplies, tools, and equipment. Clean and organize shop area. Maintain inventory of spare parts and material. Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance work

Window repair

Prepare signs

Use spray booth, equipment as needed. Maintain spray booth and spray equipment

Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

(HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

2 to 6 years’ related experience and/or training. Must be 21 years old or older

Business Experience

(prior years work/related experience)

2 to 6 years’ related experience and/or training.

Licenses/Certifications

Must possess a valid driver's license

OSHA 10 certificate if none-obtain before start date or within 7 days for employment. Fork lift and aerial equipment certification preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and write in English, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
