Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming as required.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and project instructions.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly dispose of materials.
• Operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, ladders, and scaffolding safely.
• Perform touch-up and repair work as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Position Objective: The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, coatings, and finishes to interior and exterior structures, equipment, and other surfaces in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. This role ensures completed work is visually appealing, durable, and performed safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with company and safety regulations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming as required
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
• Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve desired colors and finishes
• Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, tape, and masking materials
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
• Operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, ladders, and scaffolding safely
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and project instructions
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly dispose of materials
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment
• Perform touch-up and repair work as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and working at heights for extended periods of time. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to fumes, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions. The role also requires manual dexterity, visual attention to detail, and the ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and painting equipment.
