Job summary

Deployed Global Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled Painter to prepare surfaces and apply coatings in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Rome, NY. The role reads drawings and project specs to plan painting work and ensure finishes meet quality standards.

You will work with safety standards, maintain inventory, and support other production tasks. Eligible candidates must have 3+ years as an industrial painter, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as an industrial painter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for paint by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and masking to enable proper adhesion and high-quality finishes.
• Apply undercoats and topcoats to interior and exterior surfaces of manufactured products and construction supply.
• Inspect finished surfaces and perform touchups or other corrective actions as needed to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform post job cleanup of work areas, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Store paints, coatings, chemicals, and related supplies in designated locations following company procedures and industry safety standards.
• Maintain inventory levels of paints, coatings, and related supplies.
• Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies regarding the handling, use, storage, and disposal of paints, coatings, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
• Assist with other day-to-day production activities in other trade areas.

The Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying primers, sealers, paints, and other protective and decorative finishes to manufactured products and construction supply. The Painter reads manufacturing and construction drawings and project specifications to select appropriate undercoats and topcoats (when not specified by the customer) and to phase and plan the painting work. The Painter ensures all coatings are applied accurately and consistently to meet quality standards, project specifications, and production schedules.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not require the supervision of direct reports.

This position operates in professional office, workshop, production facility, and field environments which include working near moving mechanical parts, non-weather wet or humid conditions, and extreme cold and heat, using tools of the trade and other equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. may occur.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, on-site, hourly position. Standard days and hours are 40 hours per week, with weekends and extended hours as needed. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on business needs.

DGS will pay a one-time, completely discretionary relocation incentive of $5,000.00 for a qualified applicant to relocate to Rome, NY for daily work at the DGS location there. The incentive will be payable once a qualified and selected candidate provides evidence of relocation and is contingent (vests) upon satisfactory completion of one year of misconduct‑free employment, otherwise repayment of the incentive is required. Any offer of employment to a candidate not located in the Rome, NY aera is contingent upon relocation to the vicinity of Rome, NY.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 3+ years’ experience as an industrial painter.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must successfully pass a pre‑employment (post offer) background check.
• Must successfully pass a pre‑employment (post offer) drug test and motor vehicle record review.
• Must possess a valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID requirements.
• Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
