Aircraft Parts Painter

Our client is looking to fill their vacant Parts Painter positions near St. Louis in Chesterfield, Missouri. Job Description
  • Perform functions assigned in the prep, prime, and painting of small parts, nacelles, flight control surfaces, etc.
Education and Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of aircraft painting experience
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Knowledge of painting tools, equipment, materials, and color mixing methods
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical publications
  • Strong understanding and ability to follow instructions with concentration
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in aviation painting, either fixed wing or rotorcraft, preferred
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research technical data and perform aircraft painting functions following maintenance manuals, FAA regulations, and company policies
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying chemical solutions
  • Mix and thin paints to specified colors and consistencies
  • Mask and cover surfaces not to be painted
  • Apply coatings using spray equipment to achieve specified thickness
  • Maintain equipment and perform shop cleaning
  • Strip, sand, and apply insignias or markings using stencils, brushes, or spray equipment
  • Regulate equipment controls for curing and drying paint
  • Set up ventilation, ladders, and scaffolding prior to painting
  • Document training and work activities accurately
